This marvellous 18 hole international golf course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, the golfer of the century, who describes this as one of the best designs. It is a big challenge for even the most expert golfer as well as for the beginner. With more than 3000 hours of sun per year, the Montecastillo course has turned into one of the favourites for many a golfer. The golf course covers 160 hectares (395 acres) over a typically Andalucian landscape where the golfer can enjoy an unequalled visit. Since 1997, the year of the first Volvo Masters, Montecastillo has developed a technical and aesthetic renovation plan on the course. The Club has invested 2 million euros each year, planting hundreds of Olive trees and installed new drainage systems, sand and machinery such as GPS units on the golf carts.
