K Club Hotel & Golf Resort
Ireland
Opening in 1991, the 5* K Club Hotel expresses the history and elegance as soon as you arrive at this fabulous resort. Located only 30 minutes from Dublin, this hotel is situated in the beautiful countryside of Kildare, with the River Liffey meandering through the green surroundings. With luxurious rooms and fine dining, this golf and spa resort is one not to be missed when travelling to Ireland. With a selection of restaurants and bars, there is a choice for all.
The rooms are decorated to exceptional standards, enhancing the history and nature of the buildings and surrounding areas. Ranging from standard and deluxe double and twin rooms through to many types of suites, including the Viceroy and Imperial Suites, this hotel offers accommodation for all ages who are looking for that rememberable golfing or spa weekend away.
One of the two courses at K Club Hotel, designed by Arnold Palmer, the Palmer North Golf Course is a parkland golf course, consistently ranked in the top 3 golf courses in Ireland. With the River Liffey running down the left side of the fairway on the 8th hole, this can be one of the most hazardous holes on the golf course. In October 2006, the course was the venue to host the Ryder Cup where the European team won with a victory defeat over the USA team. The 18-hole, 72 par course is not for the faint-hearted golfer; it is either loved or hated, depending on the day of play.
The 2nd golf course at the K Club Hotel designed by Arnold Palmer, the Palmer South Golf Course was built over more than 200 acres of flat farmland. Being a links course, there are numerous water hazards, plus huge sloping greens. The bunkers are strategically placed; this course is either an enjoyable round or a tough ride. The signature hole is no seven called ‘Swallow Quarry’ which was one of the most expensive holes to build, with a lowered fairway and a large rock-faced water feature. The course is ideal for the thrill-seeking golfer!
