The Penina Championship Course is considered the most brilliant project of Sir Henry Cotton, a triple champion of the British Open who became a golf architect and settled in Algarve.

Built-in 1966. The golf course was a host to the Portuguese Open five times in a ten year period. The hotel and golf club are unique and offer outstanding views and a calm and tranquil atmosphere. Every tee, fairway and green has been rebuilt yet the character of Henry Cotton’s original design has been preserved.

The course now remains much drier in winter and with its distinctive tree-lined fairways and a sprinkling of streams and lakes, Penina offers an inspirational challenge for all levels of players. Also for your pleasure, there’s the 9-hole Academy Course and the 9 hole Resort Course for which no handicap is required.
