Pestana Village & Miramar Garden Resorts

The 4* Pestana Village Garden and 4* Pestana Miramar Garden share the same grounds, close to the centre of Funchal and the Lido area in Madeira. They’re a comfortable base for golf and for exploring the island.

The golf

Palheiro Golf is around 15 to 20 minutes away, with superb views over Funchal and the Atlantic. Santo da Serra, the island’s other main course, is around 35 to 40 minutes away.

The hotels

The Pestana Village Garden is built in traditional Madeiran style, with wrought iron and Portuguese tiles. The Miramar Garden stands in the grounds of the old Hotel Miramar, dating from 1924, with a large stone staircase leading up to the original building, while the newer building has a colonial feel.

Both have bars, restaurants and swimming pools. Rooms are studios and junior suites with light, elegant décor, and the Miramar also has executive suites in the 1924 building.

Right outside is the Estrada Monumental, which runs along the coast past gardens, cafés, a tea room, restaurants and shops.

Getting there

Madeira airport is around 25 minutes away by car.
