Golf Course in Lisbon
One of the newest golf projects on the Portuguese Silver Coast and has just been awarded Best Golf Course in Portugal at the World Golf Awards on the 8th of October 2015.
Designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened in January 2012 the Royal Obidos is truly an extraordinary golf course characterised by its amplitude, exigency and variety.
From the Championship tees it measures 6,765 metres, from the professional tees 6,525 metres and from the yellow tees 6,170 making it adaptable to all handicaps for both men and the ladies.
The highlight of the back nine is the 12th, a 420m par 4, where the golfer has to negotiate both the drive and the second shot between and over two lakes and a curving stream.
Several of the 18 holes have lakes and streams which as well as being important water hazards, also add to the spectacular beauty of this golf course with its cascading lakes and streams, the Atlantic Ocean and some truly wonderful sunsets in the background.
