Although a private and exclusive links golf course, this natural wonder along the Atlantic Ocean is open to the non-member golfer to enjoy. Estela Golf is located only 30 minutes from Porto city and in 2016 was considered the 5th best course in Portugal.
Founded in 1987 and designed by Duarte Sotto-Mayor, the Estela Golf Club was a dream of several golfers and industrialists from the north of Portugal who wanted to bring golf practice to the region where there were very few courses.
Being close to the beach, the course has been constructed on a sandy base where there is minimal vegetation. Therefore around 400,000 shrubs and trees were planted to make the course more attractive. The Tifton Bermuda grass is used for the fairways and the Pencross Bent grass used for the greens. The course tests the skills of the golfer with narrow, winding fairways and elevated greens amongst the 18 holes.
The club house offers good quality food and a friendly service to all guests.
